Frequently Asked Questions

Do you really not take any money up front?

Correct. We do not ask for deposits, materials advances, or stage payments. We complete the work, you inspect it, and you pay only when you are satisfied. For very large commercial projects, we may agree staged payments by milestone, but this is always discussed and agreed in writing beforehand.

What happens if you find unexpected problems mid-job?

We stop work, explain the issue, and give you a written quote for the additional work before proceeding. No surprise charges, ever. Common unexpected issues include: asbestos discovery, structural timber rot, or hidden pipework that needs rerouting.

Do I need to move out during the work?

Usually not. For dry lining and plastering, we work room by room and can often section off the work area with dust sheets and zip doors. For larger projects or floor screeding, we will advise if temporary relocation is recommended. We always aim to minimise disruption.

How do I know the materials are what you say they are?

We show you the materials on delivery and provide packaging labels or data sheets on request. We use only reputable brands: British Gypsum, Knauf, K Rend, Weber, Celotex, Kingspan, Armstrong, and others. All materials conform to British Standards and are sourced from established builders' merchants.

What if I'm not available to inspect the work?

We can arrange inspection at a time that suits you, including evenings and weekends. For commercial clients, we can also provide photo and video documentation of the completed work for remote approval. We do not pressure you to approve quickly. take the time you need.

Do you remove the old plaster or boards?

Yes, if the quote includes removal and disposal. We handle all waste removal responsibly, using licensed waste carriers. We leave the site clean and ready for the next trade or for you to decorate.

How soon can you start?

Typically 1–2 weeks from quote acceptance for standard jobs. For urgent work, we will do our best to accommodate. For large commercial projects, lead times may be longer depending on material availability. We always confirm a start date in writing.

Is your guarantee really insurance-backed?

Yes. Our 10-year guarantee is backed by an independent insurance policy. This means that even if our company ceased trading, you would still be able to make a claim and have the work rectified. You receive a guarantee certificate with the insurance details and claim process.
