Accessibility

Last updated: 14 June 2026

We want everyone to use this website easily. If you have any difficulty, please contact us and we will do our best to help.

Keyboard Navigation

You can use this website without a mouse. Here is how:

  • Tab. Move to the next link, button or form field.
  • Shift + Tab. Move to the previous link, button or form field.
  • Enter. Activate a link or button.
  • Space. Open the mobile menu or activate buttons.
  • Escape. Close the mobile menu.

All interactive elements have a visible focus indicator so you can see where you are on the page.

Screen Reader Users

This website is built to work with screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver. We have included the following features:

  • Descriptive headings: Every page has a clear H1 heading and a logical heading structure (H1, H2, H3) so you can navigate by headings.
  • Alt text on images: All images have descriptive alt text explaining what they show.
  • Skip to content: Press Tab when the page loads to see a "Skip to main content" link. This jumps past the navigation straight to the page content.
  • Landmarks: We use semantic HTML landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) so screen readers can jump between page sections.
  • Button labels: All buttons and links have clear text labels. no "click here" or empty buttons.
  • ARIA labels: Complex components (such as the mobile menu toggle) have ARIA labels to describe their function and state.

Visual Accessibility

You can adjust how this website looks using your browser or device settings:

  • Text size: Use Ctrl and + (plus) to make text bigger, or Ctrl and - (minus) to make it smaller. On Mac, use Cmd instead of Ctrl.
  • High contrast: Most devices have a high contrast mode in accessibility settings. Our site works with Windows High Contrast mode.
  • Dark mode: We use a dark colour scheme with good contrast between text and backgrounds. If your device has a dark mode setting, the site will adapt.
  • Zoom: Use Ctrl and scroll, or your browser zoom controls, to magnify the page up to 400% without horizontal scrolling.

Colour is never the only way to understand information. Links are underlined, buttons are clearly labelled, and status indicators use text as well as colour.

Forms (Quote Request)

Our quote form is designed to work with assistive technology:

  • Each field has a clear label and helpful placeholder text.
  • Required fields are marked and announced by screen readers.
  • Error messages explain exactly what needs fixing, not just "invalid input".
  • The form can be completed and submitted using only a keyboard.
  • If you cannot complete the form online, you can call us on 01522 XXX XXX and we will take your details over the phone.

Documents and Alternative Formats

If you need any content from this website in an alternative format, we can provide:

  • Plain text or large-print versions of any page
  • PDF documents sent by email
  • Information explained over the phone
  • A site visit where we can discuss your project face-to-face

Known Accessibility Issues

We are aware of the following limitations and are working to resolve them:

  • The hero images on some pages use background gradients that may reduce contrast for overlaid text at very high zoom levels. We are reviewing contrast ratios for these elements.
  • Some decorative images (such as service page hero banners) use AI-generated content and may not perfectly represent the service described.
  • If you find any other accessibility barrier, please tell us and we will fix it.

Accessibility Standards

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard. This means:

  • Text is readable and scalable
  • Content works with keyboard and screen readers
  • Colours have sufficient contrast (at least 4.5:1 for normal text)
  • Forms and interactive elements are clearly labelled
  • Navigation is consistent across all pages
